Hours of heat gun and scraping brought us here.
It doesn’t look great, but it’s much better. Most of the gunk is gone.
First Insley and then John spent hours pulling staples, tacks, and nails out of the stairs.
Meanwhile, I started stripping.

We still have to strip the edges, but other than that we are doing pretty darn good.
To refinish a floor, a professional would charge $5+ per square foot. And possibly extra because it was painted.
