It’s been a while. I’m sorry. There was this pesky thing called moving and then there was so much to do and so much to buy and so many cardboard boxes.
As soon as the floors dried, we focused on painting the master bedroom. Insley’s room was done ahead of time because she has decisive decision making skills. John and I, however, could not decide on a paint color.
We painted the ceiling white and put on the new ceiling fan. The ceiling fans we are adding are low energy and led, super easy on the power bill.
It’s really hard to take a picture of a ceiling fan.
Then we had to decide on a color. The room came to us painted blue, which we liked. But it was a very dark blue, depressing and sad.
Which one is your favorite?
Here’s another view…
Did you pick one? Well too bad because we picked none of them.
We finally went with a color called October Sky, pictured above, which is very close to the original blue but lighter. We painted the walls, then decided to add some moulding to the baseboards.
We added quarter round to the floor, and base cap on top of the baseboards.
Then all the moulding in the room was painted a creamy white, called night blooming jasmine.
And finally we finished by adding real furniture.
The door with the glass is our closet, and the door with the full length mirror good to the tiny master bath.
We still need to do something about the window treatments and we are waiting on some more future, specifically nightstands. But our room finally feels happy, not blue.
